This work explains the geological characterization of “La Virgen“ deposit, which was decisive in proposing a solution to the mineral depletion that the mine had been going through since 2012. The results of the diamond drilling program favored the resizing of the mineral resources. Chapter I refers to general data of “La Virgen“, explains the solution to the problem of mineral reserves, criteria that led to the final conclusion. Chapter II explains the theoretical framework that addresses concepts and geological processes. Chapter III deals with regional geology, magmatic and tectonic processes, and the metallogenetic belt, the local geology and structural control. In Chapter IV the types of mineralization and the characteristics of the host rock in the deposit are described. Chapter V explains the different types of hydrothermal alteration present in “La Virgen“ and the mineralogical affinity of gold in the deposit. Chapter VI describes the geological model of the deposit “La Virgen“, the evolutionary sequence of the deposit and the paragenetic sequence. Chapter VII execution of the infill diamond drilling program and results that allowed the resizing of the mineral resource. Finally, confirm that the diamond drilling work carried out in “La Virgen“ and the geological characterization of the deposit, favored the resizing of mineral resources by 17 Mt @ 0.6 g/t Au.
