For the elaboration of the present investigation, the design of three concrete mixtures was carried out, each one of them for the water-cement ratios of 0.45, 0.50 and 0.55; each of these mix designs was made with the purpose of making 4”x8” and 6”x12” cylindrical specimens, which suffered axial compression at 7 and 28 days. The cement used for these mix designs is Cemento Andino Tipo V, the fine aggregates come from the “Trapiche“ quarry and the coarse aggregates from the “Gloria“ quarry. The tests in the fresh state carried out in the Laboratorio de Ensayo de Materiales were: settling, fluidity, unit weight, setting time and exudation. The number of test tubes made in total was 401, between 66 and 69 for each of the a/c ratios. The average compressive strength found at 28 days was: A/C=0.45, 6”x12” and 4”x8”, 388.57 and 421.66 kg/cm2; A/C=0.50, 6”x12” and 4”x8”, 376.47 and 390.31 kg/cm2; A/C=0.55 6”x12” and 4”x8”, 327.34 and 343.19 kg/cm2 respectively. The correlations between the 6”x12” and 4”x8” specimens for the elaborated samples were linear, the values obtained varied between 0.975 and 0.994. In a previous study, Moro (2015), with the use of Type I Portland Cement, obtained correlation values between 0.87 and 0.91. In the present investigation, the correlation factors are intended to serve as correction factors when 4”x8” specimens are made on site with Type V cement, for w/c ratios of 0.45, 0.50 and 0.55.
