The objective of this thesis is to apply a demand forecast, to improve the inventory management of the best-selling products in a clothing workshop in Trujillo. The proposed methodological approach is quantitative and developed sequentially through three phases with an experimental design. In the first phase, the Pareto diagram and the ABC classification are analyzed to identify the main product line and its demand patterns. Then for the design phase, two forecasts are combined: the first using Winter's exponential attenuation technique where the proportion of demand for fabric colors over its category is calculated and the second using multiple regression, the forecast of the category considering the total amounts with the impact of external variables related to the covid-19 pandemic. Finally, in the implementation phase we will contrast the result of maintaining the empirical projection vs. the proposed model for the inventory indicators: safety stock, rotation and storage cost. Finally, it is concluded that the results from the demand forecast for the year 2022 are: a 41% reduction in safety inventory, an increase in rotation to 2 times and a reduction of 13,500 soles in storage cost in an optimistic scenario.
