In this present thesis work is described the operation of ball mills in a mining process to reduce the size of the mineral, if the optimum load level inside the mill is exceeded this is saturated and decreases efficiency using high energy consumption, therefore one of the reasons for the low efficiency of the process is due to the difficulty of identifying the load level in the mill. The data of the physical and electrical has been obtained from a ball mill of a mining company where I have done my professional work, then the dynamic movement of the steel balls inside the mill is mathematically modeled to determine the load level, the control strategy is programmed combining engineering knowledge in the theory of control and diffuse control for the design of a diffuse controller, to simulate the behavior the angular speed of mill that determines the load level using the Matlab program. Additionally, the results obtained in the simulation are compared with the real data obtained experimentally and describes the electronic equipment proposed to be implemented in the mill for subsequent integration into a milling monitoring system. With the level of load obtained an optimal operation is achieved that allows to increase the efficiency of the grinding process, the useful life of the equipment, generating a great impact on the operating costs of the plant and in the optimization of the energy resources.
