Within the water balance of the mining facility, non-contact water reservoirs are designed to store and regulate the amount of water to be discharged to the surrounding communities. Operation and level of the reservoirs are affected by the variability of the evacuation flow, due to the occurrence of rains between dry and wet seasons. This research study analyzed factors and consequences of the evacuated flow variability and considered the design of a non-contact mine water pumping system for the evacuation of the variable flow in dry and wet seasons. The research is of a quantitative type, correlational scope and non-experimental transectional design. The geographical characteristics of the reservoir and transport route were analyzed, as well as the historical data of operation that was used to define the input conditions of the proposed design. Based on these conditions, the selection of equipment and components of the pumping systems for the dry and wet seasons was made. From the analysis of the performance of the systems in operation for the conditions that occur in the evacuation of flow from the reservoir, it was confirmed that the pumping system has a positive influence for the evacuation of variable flow.
