Metallurgical accounting is a very useful tool for managing units producing metals and mineral concentrates. A practical universal code for the mining industry is inevitable and the AMIRA P754 code provides an excellent platform for best practice. The objective was to generate a guide for the implementation of the AMIRA P754 code that can be applied to small, medium and large mining concentrator plants. Data from participating concentrator plants for small and medium mining and evaluation with experts for large mining were used, then the level of implementation of the AMIRA P754 code was evaluated with the tool designed in this thesis. An implementation level of 61% was obtained for small mining, a value of 49% for medium mining and a level of 62% for large mining. The proposed tool adequately measures the levels of implementation for the continuous improvement of the Metallurgical Accounting System. A practical and useful guide was generated for the implementation of the principles of the AMIRA P754 code. It can be pointed out that it is important that any implementation of the AMIRA P754 code must have the support of High Management and they must be convinced that metallurgical accounting will contribute to improving the management of their mining operations.
