In recent years, mitigation of alluvial disasters in the Chucchún River sub-basin in the city of Carhuaz has been a relevant part of municipal management. The population of Carhuaz, currently, due to the landslide phenomenon of April 2010, has become aware of the threat that Laguna 513 still poses. The event of 2010 has shown that the free edge of 20 meters that was left in the lagoon After building the tunnel, it has limitations to counteract the waves that can occur with avalanches equal to or greater than those of April 11, 2010. In this sense, the research “Analysis of the effect of climate change on the increased risk of landslides, avalanches in the Chucchún-Ancash sub-basin“ will try to (I) Analyze the effect of climate change on the increased risk of landslides and avalanches in the Chucchún sub-basin, (II) Analyze the effect of the retreat of the Nevado Hualcán in the Chucchún basin will increase the risks, (III) Analyze how the vulnerabilities in the Chucchún basin will increase the risks. (IV) Generation of risk maps for multicriteria analysis. With the result obtained, conclusions and recommendations can be generated that will be used for the risk management of the municipal authorities and the prevention of alluvial disasters. The Chucchún basin presents large vulnerabilities that increases the risks, so it is recommended that the authorities should manage preventive measures to avoid catastrophes.
