In various regions of Peru and the world there are sensitive socio-environmental problems associated with the exploitation of medium and large-scale mining. This is due to the proximity of these operations to villages and peasant communities, as well as to priorities in the use of water resources, which tends to generate complaints for damages that could paralyze the mining operation. Social and environmental problems are due to the negative impacts produced by blasting, whether these effects are real or human perception. These effects are manifested as a result of three factors, these are; ground vibrations, air wave generation and rock projections. The present work describes aspects about the effects of vibration, the international criteria of damage and existing human perception. In addition, it delivers the tools to the professional that will allow them to take corrective control measures in harmony with the production levels required by the current and future mining plan. The main problem that will be solved in this research is the constant confrontations that mining companies have with their environment due to the issue of blast-induced vibrations, which deteriorates relations with neighboring communities. The study area is located in the Cerro Corona mining unit of the Goldfields La Cima company located in the El Tingo Peasant Community, La Jalca Property Annex, Coymolache and Pilancones Caseríos; district and province of Hualgayoc, department of Cajamarca. Geographically, it is located on the eastern slope of the Western Cordillera of the Andes of Northern Peru between 3,600 and 4,050 meters above sea level. The project is based on a practical application example related to the socio-environmental problem in the Cerro Corona mine, where the proximity of the blasting to the city of Hualgayoc generates controversy due to the possibilities of structural damage to housing and inconvenience to the inhabitants. This problem prompted the implementation of a participatory vibration monitoring campaign that was not limited to an activity that was purely to control levels of damage and / or annoyances but was extended to the application of analysis tools that allowed the drilling and drilling designs to be intervened. existing blasting and thus opening the opportunity to improve production levels without neglecting the socio-environmental issue.
