situation of the rural community San Francisco de Raymina, located in the Ayacucho Region at 3798 masl. Based on an energy diagnosis of the community, identifying the basic energy needs, and an evaluation of the renewable energy potential of the place, strategies are developed and efficient and viable technologies are proposed with the use of renewable energies for the sustainable energization. The technological alternatives that are proposed are technically appropriate and economically viable, and aims to solve the problem of energy deficit that presents the community, as well as to contribute to the development of productive activities in a sustainable manner, to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants. The main results show that 100 % of families in the community use firewood as the main energy source for different uses (cooking food, water heating and heating of their homes). For cooking food, 70,8 % of the population combines the use of wood-burning stoves with LPG stoves. Electricity consumption in households is for lighting, 36 %, and domestic appliances, 64 % (TV, DVD, radio, blender, iron, sound equipment and cell phone charger). The average daily electricity consumption of the entire community is 17,56 kWh, and the average monthly electricity consumption per family is 12,5 kWh. In general, the most widely used renewable energy resource in the community is solar. The average annual daily solar radiation received in San Francisco de Raymina is 5,30 kWh/m2∙día. Particularly, as the community has very limited electricity supply, typical for many similar villages, insufficient for the development of productive activities, a local photovoltaic installation is proposed and for the necessary heating of the houses, solar passive bioclimatic designs, appropriate for the region, are proposed, as already partially and successfully in use.
