Mining companies on Peru make a project estimation for the increase in the production or improvement in internal processes, they hire specialist companies for the development of new processes and detailed engineering for de new expansions within the mining development framework. This enables large and medium-sized consulting firms to develop the study, design and construction of this new projects with a key commitment to deliver this new constructions, key dates encouraging sponsors and major investors to make an initial investment for future projects. The key dates commit deadlines for the end of these constructions, because at the end of the deadlines the production of copper, zinc and gold (minerals extracted within Peruvian territory) from the completion of the plant within the established period will compensate the extra charges concerning the time limit, it begins the amortization of the investment made by the client, and the profits are increased. For that reason, consulting and supervisors’ companies use the Project Management methodology based on the PMBOK 6th edition to enhance processes applied during the construction in order to maintain both cost and schedule performance indicators within acceptable values to meet the demands of the client about scope, schedule and quality of the product. The following research work analyze the possibility of improve the schedule performance index applying good practices of the PMBOK 6th edition, restructuring according to technical criteria and applicable standards the sequence of activities for each project deliverable analyzed, with the objective of completing the sulfuric acid plant with a capacity of 3.2 dm3 in the period of time required by the client. To achieve it, basis lines analyzed by the contractor forehand and real productivity ratios are established such as basis, in order to foresee the required resources to accelerate the progress of the real S-curve, in comparison to the real progress during the constructive process without the application of the PMBOK 6th edition methodology. This analysis is supported in last planner system for the schedule progress control and the lean management for the improvement on the decisions making.
