Análisis, diseño y desarrollo para mejorar la eficiencia del uso de tecnologías en el Ministerio Público

Abstract

El presente trabajo realiza un diagnóstico, análisis y una propuesta de solución para optimizar y automatizar los reportes estadísticos realizados por la Oficina de Control de la Productividad Fiscal (OCPF), el cual tiene como función generar dichos reportes e informes de gestión de manera diaria y periódica, que sirven para la toma de decisiones del personal fiscal y administrativo del Ministerio Público a nivel nacional, por ello, se propone implementar un Datawarehouse como una solución de Inteligencia de Negocios (BI), que logre integrar las diferentes fuentes de información que posee la institución, creando un repositorio unificado del cual se puedan extraer múltiples reportes estadísticos. Asimismo, se está elaborando un aplicativo web que progresivamente irá implementados reportes automáticos usando la metodología Ralph Kimball y que tendrán como fuente de datos el Data warehouse. Finalmente, este trabajo busca aplicar tecnologías de Inteligencia de Negocios usando software libre, como el motor de base de datos PosgreSQL y/o servicios de paga como la herramienta ETL del Sybase, que es el motor de base de datos que actualmente utiliza el Ministerio Público, siendo así una solución factible para la institución.

The present work carries out a diagnosis, analysis and a solution proposal to optimize and automate the statistical reports made by the Fiscal Productivity Control Office (OCPF), whose function is to generate said reports and management reports on a daily basis and periodically, which serve for the decision-making of the fiscal and administrative staff of the Public Ministry at the national level, therefore, it is proposed to implement a Datawarehouse as a Business Intelligence (BI) solution, which manages to integrate the different sources of information that the institution has, creating a unified repository from which multiple statistical reports can be extracted. In addition, a web application is being developed that will progressively implement automatic reports using the Ralph Kimball methodology and which will have the Datawarehouse as a data source. Finally, this work seeks to apply Business Intelligence technologies using free software, such as the PostgreSQL database engine and/or paid services such as the Sybase ETL tool, which is the database engine currently used by the Public Ministry., thus being a feasible solution for the institution.
