Corrective and preventive maintenance of distribution and power transformers requires analysis dielectric oil analysis and the quantification of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and the identification of equipment contaminated with these compounds of proven carcinogenic and whose use has been banned. The Stockholm Treaty, to which the country is a signatory, set deadlines for identifying and disposing of contaminated equipment. The proposal arises as a response to the opportunity to meet the requirements for quantitative analysis of PCBs by this service, which are now sent to laboratories abroad with increases in both freight costs and shipping logistics. The research aimed to demonstrate the feasibility of the technical-economic study to implement PCB analysis in an insulating oil laboratory in the city of Lima. Due to its methodological design, the research was applied with a quantitative approach, descriptive level, non-experimental design following the hypothetical-deductive method. The population, PCB analysis requests received by the laboratory of TJH2B Latina S.A.C. from companies in the energy, mining and large industry sectors demanding the service. Sample analysis requests between the years 2017 to 2021 were processed abroad. Both, the market, and technical-economic feasibility of its implementation were demonstrated. The results of the economic-financial evaluation showed a financial net present value NPV (F) of S/ 256 665 and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 79.57% making the proposal profitable in an optimistic scenario fulfilling the forecast regarding the growth in the requirement of these analyses conducted by the simulation modelling with the Risk simulator.
