The thesis comprises the evaluation of the experimental data, which were recorded for each change in the successive modifications of the envelopes of two experimental housing modules (MEV1 and MEV2), which were built according to the typology of the Imata village (Arequipa). The evaluation has been performed as well as the thermal simulation of the MEVs, to understand their energy behavior, and quantify the energy gain due to the improvement of the envelope´s insulation, also to calculate the passive solar gain of the different installed bioclimatic components. The MEVs are located in Imata Village, at 4 519 masl, District of San Antonio de Chuca, Province of Caylloma, Arequipa Region. This village is considered one of the coldest in the region. However, it receives great solar irradiance that, on average, is greater than 6 kWh·m-2·day-1. In the MEVs, different modifications were made to the envelopes, such as the change in the roof, plastering addition on the walls, installation of skylights, installation of a false ceiling, and the construction of a greenhouse attached to the module, among other modifications. All the changes were made successively and through all the processes, the indoor temperatures of the MEVs were monitored, as well as meteorological parameters like temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, and solar radiation. For each modification made to the envelopes, the temperature and their energy behavior were simulated using the SketchUp, OpenStudio, and EnergyPlus programs. The climatological data in Imata was registered with a Davis Vantage Pro 2 Plus meteorological station, while the data inside the modules were measured and registered with Pt100 temperature sensors, U12-012 Hobo micro stations, and U12-006 Hobo data loggers. For the simulations, the thermophysical properties of the materials were taken from the Peruvian Technical Standard EM.110. Through envelope isolation and solar passive gain applied in the MEVs, the temperature increment in MEV1 was 6.8 °C and in MEV2 was 11.5 °C compared to the initial construction of the module called typical dwelling built according to the typology of the Imata village. It was determined that the greenhouse attached to MEV2, allowed to obtain a temperature increase of 5.2 °C with respect to MEV1. Considering 15 °C as a neutral temperature for the inhabitants of Imata, the energy required for MEV1 and MEV2 would be 14.2 kWh·day-1 and 10.2 kWh·day-1, respectively Those values contrast with the case of the energy required for the typical module that would be 38.7 kWh·day-1.
