The mining industry positively impacted the local and country GPD. Peru is one of the most important exporters of gold, silver, copper, lead, zinc, iron, tin, molybdenum, tellurium around the world. Peru mining forecast concerning the next years investments about exploration, exploitation and development is over US$ 56 158 thousand million. Callao Port ships the 48% of all Peruvian exported cargo. Callao ships the mineral from the mines located in Junín, Pasco, Ayacucho, Huancavelica and the north zone of Lima. Since 2013, the Callao port capacity has been increasing more than twice to ships mineral cargo from Toromocho. On the other hand, Matarani port ships mineral form Southern Perú, Cerro Verde y Las Bambas. The international supply chain evolution has generated that the ports evolved to modal exchange zones. This evolution demonstrates all mineral ports relevance and the necessity of assuring the efficiency on all their processes. The international supply correct operation depends on the port’s efficiency. These changes fostered the desired of increasing the port efficiency, the cargo handling cost reduction and the international supply chain services integration For that reason, it is mandatory to establish research that allows us to evaluate the operative failures that truly impact the mineral shipping system performance and how we can predict the future performance that validate the efficacy of the management that the ports are running to assure the provided services efficiency
