Climate change is a phenomenon that is affecting the Earth’s ecosystems, which has triggered the development of environmentally sustainable alternatives in recent years, in order to continue carrying out daily activities without affecting terrestrial ecosystems. In that sense, this present research work presents a design of a typical light vessel from the Peruvian Amazon known as “peque peque“, which for many years has been a vessel lacking in research and innovation that have been the cause of accidents and human casualties during their sailing. That is why in the present investigation the stability of the ship took into account as a parameter of greater importance, from the choice of a low-density composite material to get a light vessel, with which the vessel is scantling using the ISO standard 12215. In addition, in the objective of using sustainable technologies with the environment, a propulsion system powered by photovoltaic energy has been designed that will supply the river boat in any season of the year, taking advantage from the radiation present in the place of operation. Among the conclusions, it is obtained that the vessel together with the weights that the vessel must support is stable when it is analyzed under the stability criteria granted by the Naval Prefecture of Argentina for passenger ships in river navigation.
