This thesis raises the question: How does the awareness program influence the acceptance of mining exploration projects in the community of Pan de Azúcar in the district of Catilluc - Cajamarca, 2019? Because the district of Catilluc is located in the vicinity of the Exploration Project of a mining company. So, the objective of the research will be to determine how the awareness program influences the acceptance of mining exploration projects in that Community. To this end, applied research has been carried out at an experimental level using a quasi-experimental design. Three communities close to the project have been considered and the Pan de Azúcar Community has been chosen as a sample of 25 families. The company has developed the awareness program by holding two training workshops on mining, as well as activities related to support for education; a medical campaign; construction of the Pan de Azúcar - Alto Perú rice field; agricultural and livestock development; and chocolate and Christmas dinner with an investment of 132,887.80 soles. From the analysis of the surveys carried out before and after the awareness program, it can be said that the percentage of knowledge of the mining activity has varied an 44%, while regarding the fear of the mining presence due to contamination it has been reduced an 21%; the percentage of acceptance of the exploration project has increased an 50%.
