Historically, the problem of fatal accidents in mining has had negative impacts for companies, families and society. With the advance of time, companies have implemented health and safety management systems and compliance with legislation has contributed to reducing the accident rate; however, this has not been enough. In the particular case of investigation, a transnational mining company and its headquarters in Peru will be analyzed in their safety performance. So the following question was raised: In what way does the improvement of the cultural aspect in Health and Safety management decrease the accident rate indicators in a Transnational Mining Company based in Peru? In what way does the application of the technical aspect in the Safety management reduce the accident rate indicators in a Transnational Mining Company based in Peru? This research was based on theories, studies, statistical and correlational analyzes of before and after, applying the methodology of the new approach to safety culture through a program with a cultural focus that was implemented in a transnational mining company and its headquarters in Peru, which emphasizes commitment and leadership, a common vision on safety, balancing the cultural aspect with the technical aspect of the Health and Safety management system. Considering as the basis of culture the values, beliefs, attitudes, behaviors, leadership and commitment and courage. As part of the DNA of the company's safety culture, which has had a positive impact on safety performance by reducing accident indicators in a sustainable manner and strengthening the safety culture of a transnational mining company and its headquarters in Peru.
