This sufficiency work proposes the improvement in the design of the plug to mitigate the emission of acid effluents from the mine mouths in a context of the Modification of the Mine Closure Plan, in a polymetallic deposit at a height greater than 4,000 meters above sea level, where Pb concentrates with Ag and Zn contents are produced. For the improvement in the design of plugs for the closure of mine openings, previous studies of geomechanical characterization of the rock massif, studies of the wáter quality of the effluents, geochemical analysis of the material that make up the mine openings were carried out. 8 mine openings that are material of closure 5 of them present acid drainage and 3 of them are without acid drainage. Based on the results of the studies and considering the physical characteristics of the mine openings, two types of design of plugs and covers are proposed that guarantee physical and geochemical stability, which are described below: - Reinforced concrete plug without drainage, which will consist of the construction of a concrete wall reinforced with reinforcing steel, hermetic to the rock, because there is no presence of water, the construction of pipes has not been planned, this plug design corresponds to the mine mouths Lv. 3 (communication), X-150 and Coturcan Norte. - Reinforced concrete plug with drainage, which will consist of the construction of a wall of concrete reinforced with reinforcing steel, hermetic to the rock, due to the presence of water, the placement of pipes designed in such a way that they do not allow the air entry (one of the key elements for the generation of acid drainage), but if the effluent exit, in such a way as to mitigate the production of acid rock drainage, this plug design corresponds to the Nv mine openings. 6, Lv. 3 (Coturcan Área), Nv. 1 (Charity zone), Lv. 5 and Nv. 4 North. It is also considered 2 types of cover that will be filled in the space between the stopper and the portal, suitably chosen for each type of land, Type I, which consists of three layers (cultivation land, low permeability material or clay and material of loan) and Type II consisting of two layers (low permeability material or clay and loan material). Considering these types of design of both caps and covers, the physical and geochemical stability required for an adequate closure of mine openings that comply with current regulations is improved.
