SAG grinding circuits have been evolving relatively rapidly over the last 60 years and now we are perhaps reaching the full scale of SAG mill size. These large equipment have been characterized by having high installed power that allows us to produce high tonnages of ore. The need to produce in greater quantity and optimize them makes it look for ways of improvement. Therefore, this thesis aims to optimize the throughput in SAG grinding when you have thick and competent material, through operational management strategies with the Pebbles circuit. An analysis was made of various components (lithology, mineralogy, ray diffraction, microscopy) involved in the process, and an analysis of the stages of the process itself with the introduction of improvements. It is very important to always start from a principle that is to generate Grindability and we achieve this by finding a suitable filling level (% Jc) which operationally is to find the optimal working weight of the SAG Mill that generates stability to be able to use the expert PXP system of grinding, to this it is added that, we must also consider that it is an atypical operation where we have only one Ball Mill for the reception of a SAG Mill in both Grinding Lines. With this, it was possible to conclude that, effectively, by deriving the Correctly crushed Pebbles, the Throughput of the mill is increased, alleviating operating conditions such as power and current, and improving its performance.
