The mining industry tries to control all the variables of the operation to obtain the maximum profitability with the minimum cost. The objective of this sufficiency work is to develop the technical-economic evaluation in small iron mining producers to determine the viability of the project. The technical aspects of the exploitation method, pit design parameters, unit operations (drilling, blasting, loading, hauling and crushing) and the commercialization process of high-grade iron ore (greater than 62%) will be detailed in the investigation. To develop this sufficiency work, financial mathematics and economic indicators will be used to make decisions regarding the evaluation of the viability of the project. For this, information on the price of iron ore, initial investment, direct and indirect costs, assets, useful life of the mine and monthly mineral production will be collected. The different economic indicators (NPV, IRR and payback) will be calculated and a sensitivity analysis will be carried out for the project. As it is a project focused on iron ore, other additional factors are considered to decide the viability of the project (minimum exportable grade, strategic location of the project).
