Currently in our country for the elaboration of a layout for an oil installation in the Design Stage, it is carried out based on reference documents, national standards, specifications and applicable sections of the design codes, among others. In these documents incorporated as references, the general guidelines are established in a theoretical way, for the separation of equipment in an installation. However, this distribution, which we could call “theoretical“, does not contemplate the risk assessment study of the extent of damage caused to other nearby equipment in the event of a catastrophic event in a Production Battery. Being the consequences of the accidental release of a flammable liquid, damage to the equipment in the Collection Systems, Separation System, Storage System, among other facilities within a Production Battery. The proposed objective is to be able to determine a safe distancing of equipment in the collection systems, separation system, storage system, among other facilities within a Production Battery in the Peruvian Northwest, based on the simulation of the scope of consequences, which is obtained through computer software. The evaluation of the present scenarios (catastrophic events) was proposed, to establish an adequate distance between equipment within the Production Battery, in a way to reduce the damages produced by these evaluated scenarios. With the obtaining of the events generated in the present study, it is intended that these recommendations be applied, after review and approval of the authorized company. And so, through these recommendations, help reduce the damage caused by catastrophic events in an oil installation. Also with this study, contribute knowledge to this business problem of oil operators and reduce costs, improving the operation and quality of processes. The costs generated by the impacts of the risk assessment study in the sectors/ areas within a Production Battery, were evaluated in the human, environmental and socioeconomic environments on the equipment of the sectorized areas in a Production Battery. And based on the analysis developed; it was possible to determine a safe distancing of the areas of the equipment of the six (06) systems in which the Production Battery is sectorized at the design stage. Representing graphically in the layout of the Production Battery the radiation curves, in order to identify the affected areas, and rethink the distribution of the areas considering the minimum safe distance.
