The present research entitled “influence of the soil-structure interaction on the structural behavior of reinforced concrete buildings with basements“ has been motivated against the existing problem referred to that many structural projects are modeled considering embedment in the base, which presents certain limitations, since it does not take into account the characteristics and properties of the soil on which the structure rests, the characteristics of the foundation, nor the interaction of the soil, foundation and structure, so it does not reflect the actual behavior of the structure as a whole . The research provides important information on how the soil-structure interaction influences the structural behavior of reinforced concrete buildings with basements, studying, evaluating and explaining the research variables and indicators, such as, fundamental period, lateral displacement, force shear at the base, turning moment at the base and axial force on the columns of the first floor, for this a series of structural models with a flexible base have been made, representing the ground with springs of variable rigidity, both with linear cases and with non-linear cases, which have been compared with their corresponding fixed base models.
