The Ciénaga Sterile Material Deposit of the Tantahuatay Mining Unit receives waste discharge from the Ciénaga pit mining. During the month of June 2019, tensile cracks appeared in the West zone of the Reservoir even downstream outside the component. The purpose of this work is to carry out the Physical Stability Reassessment of the Deposit and propose stabilization alternatives. For this, geotechnical field and laboratory research has been carried out in addition to the review of geotechnical information from previous engineering and studies. For the stability evaluation, the Deposit has been divided into 03 sectors, the West sector where cracks have been identified, the Central sector which corresponds to the area with the highest pile height, and the East sector in which no geotechnical risks have been identified. The numerical evaluation was carried out with stability analysis by the limit equilibrium method and 04 sections have been evaluated, of which 01 section corresponds to the West sector, 02 sections to the Central sector and 01 section to the East sector. The results have shown that the West sector is in a condition of limit stability and requires stabilization measures, the Central and East sectors are stable. For the stabilization of the West sector of the Deposit it has been proposed; 03 stabilization alternatives, which mainly consist of placing a buttress in the lower part of the sliding mass and, in addition, geotechnical instruments for displacement control are recommended
