This research work develops the theme of achieving a better estimate of mineral resources with the application of the wax immersion method for specific gravity, given that in this method the lithological behavior and mineralization of the deposit are taken into consideration in real and punctual. This research has been carried out based on samples obtained from the diamond cores drilling in the San Vicente mine Compañía Minera San Ignacio de Morococha SAA (SIMSA) by the application of the wax immersion method. This was carried out, in the first place, by obtaining 200 samples of diamond cores drilling from 24 holes with different lithologies, textures, mineralization and depths from the area called Ayala Inferior that comprises the Pit 8660, then the wax immersion method was applied for calculating the specific gravity of the samples taken out. Finally, the estimation calculations, the comparison and the analysis of the results obtained in the previous stages with the working on the Vulcan program for the estimation of mineral resources. The results for Edge 8660 tonnage are 38,721 TMS having a difference of 4801 TMS underestimated with the theoretical method used and has been extracted from that area of the mine.
