This report aims to publicize the design criteria of a two-story Electric Room with medium and low voltage electrical installations for operation in a Mining Plant at 4 200 meters above sea level. Given the need for more electrical loads in the Mining Industry, the design of a second level was chosen for the implementation of a Medium Voltage Switchgear, Motor Control Center and Distribution Transformer, creating a configuration similar to a mobile skid substation. Currently these types of solutions are flexible as they can be moved to different geographical areas with different conditions depending on the need of the industry. In the mining area they are highly used due to the dynamism of the activity itself. The established design criteria allow us to select and size electrical equipment, lighting systems, fire systems, structural mechanic, thermal insulation; among others necessary for the proper operation and operation of this Electric Room.
