This paper aims to highlight the importance of process automation, emphasizing the economic improvements of the company that applies it and also in terms of security towards the personnel who work in the preparation area of the cyanide solution. To meet the objective, the step by step of the process was known and later the most optimal instruments were selected to perform the measurements of the process variables. Also, a PAC was decided to be included due to its speed and processing capacity, whose signals will be controlled from a control panelboard, in which an HMI with virtual buttons was fitted for the handling of all personnel related to the process. As a result, it was possible to successfully implement the automatic cyanide preparation system, greatly facilitating this process and, above all, managing to visualize the entire process on the HMI. It should be noted that the design of the main graphic screen was made based on the ANSI / ISA 101 standard of 2015, a standard that stands out for its simplicity and efficiency for operations personnel and all those related to HMI systems.
