In this research work, the development of a flow properties testwork plan of crushed ore is studied to improve flow efficiency during operation. This research is focused on the mining industry. The effect of the flow properties testwork plan over the design of an ore transport and storing system is verified by the results of the mentioned testing. The flow properties testwork results of crushed ore have been collected to develop this research. Flow properties testwork under standards ASTM 6128-16 and ASTM 6683-19, characterization testing, dust extinction moisture testing (DEM) and detraction testing utilizing different liners have been performed on the crushed ore materials. The effects of these testings’ results in the design and selection of a material transport and storage system are analyzed. The transport and storage system of ore consists of feeders, conveyors, chutes, and stockpiles. According to the results obtained, it was concluded that the material is cohesive according to Jenike’s classification. Other data obtained from the tests are bulk density, critical and DEM moisture, particle size, rathole formation’s dimensions, angle of wall friction with different liners, angle of repose and angle of drawdown. This data is used to select the dust control system type, flow type, liner, model the crushed ore stockpile, model the chutes, and frames the considerations for feeder and conveyor selection. It is recommended that the flow be instantaneous and at low moisture, without adding water in the process for dust control. The results demonstrated that the tests should be performed in order according the recommended testwork plan, to evaluate the quantity and type of testwork required. These results affect the flow considerations and are required to design the system. However, the information is insufficient to demonstrate the hypothesis of this research work, which requires measurements during the operation of the study mining project.
