An electrical substation is an installation that is part of an electrical power system, designed to establish adequate voltage levels for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy. Its main equipment is the power transformer. The “Elevator“ electrical substations are located in the immediate vicinity of the electric power generating plants, whose function is to raise the voltage level before delivering the energy to the electrical transport network. Subsequently, The “Reduction” electrical substations reduce the voltage levels to commercial values (low voltage) suitable for domestic and industrial consumption. In this context, the present research work develops an electromechanical design applied to an electrical substation, which includes the calculation of loads, selection of equipment, conductors, distribution boards and electrical protection equipment, in addition to establishing a commissioning system ground, which is mainly composed of a mesh of copper conductors and grounding wells; This design is based on the Peruvian Technical Standards (NTP) and the National Electricity Code (CNE); as well as international norms and standards such as the National Electric Code (NEC), National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
