The evaluation of the selection management of mechatronic projects in public research institutes is important because it allows us to know their impact on the fulfillment of their objectives in the development of Peruvian society through the use of Information and Communication Technologies. Conventionally, project management is applied with empirical knowledge based on the criteria of the directors and heads of areas responsible for the execution of these in different state entities. This empirical management is evidenced by not having clear objectives focused on the strategic objectives. Nowadays, project management has taken on great importance, ensuring a higher rate of efficiency and achieving increasing objectives within the institutions, but this depends entirely on the application methodology. This work proposes an evaluation methodology based on qualification variables such as institutional vision level, human resources training level, research level, innovation level, among others. These variables to be considered were validated by national and international experts through a survey carried out. In addition, to verify the effectiveness of this proposal, current projects given in 2018 are evaluated, which are characterized by containing mechatronic components and are multidisciplinary. Based on this evaluation, it is possible to focus these projects and even make decisions to cancel those that were not in accordance with the institutional objectives. Additionally, a case study was carried out in the area of projects where the programs that obtained the highest score were promoted by the institution and finally became institutional pillars. These subsequent evaluations and verified achievements over time identified this methodology as a consistent way of evaluating projects.
