This research of professional sufficiency is based on the study of air conditioning and mechanical ventilation (HVAC) and its application in hospital infrastructure. Air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems are those systems for providing control of the ambient air conditions, such as temperature, humidity, purity and distribution. These systems are called Environmental Control and the main function they develop is the generation and maintenance of comfort for the occupants this environment. The proper design of air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems is of vital importance in health care facilities, since the population that uses these services is especially vulnerable to a high risk of danger to health. The air quality and the conditioning that is implemented in human health spaces determine the degree of asepsis of the environment and, as such, safeguards the integrity of the patient and directly influences their treatment; inadequate air control in these types of areas triggers the generation of various intrahospital infections. The often unique environmental conditions associated with these facilities; and the critical performance, reliability and maintainability of HVAC systems necessary for their success require a specialized set of engineering practices and design criteria established by codes, models and standards developed by the competent international associations in the field. That is why, in the context of the aforementioned, this sufficiency work is focused on the adequate design of medical units located in industrial camps.
