In the oil and gas industry, it is necessary to make a reliable measurement of the transactions that involve the transport of these products from one operator to another, this process is defined as a custody transfer measurement system. In the southern jungle of the country, the hydrocarbon liquid custody transfer measurement system accounts for an approximate volume of 100,000 barrels per day, the importance of a reliable measurement is required, even more so if it represents more than 50% of production total liquid of our country. In this sufficiency work the impact caused by not using digital technology is evaluated to eliminate the uncertainty of the analog re-calibration caused mainly by the judgment of the personnel when performing the maintenance calibration, hence the use of a flow computer for the elimination of uncertainty in a hydrocarbon transfer system. To avoid significant financial risks in these applications, close attention must be paid to small details that can be ignored in a process application, therefore formulas are disclosed and budget uncertainty results are presented by software. To test the effect of implementing the modification of the reading of the variable, we apply the results of the uncertainty estimation in a temperature transmitter for the two scenarios, then we compare the results obtained by simulation in the flow computer, to obtain the volume corrected accumulated, in an annual period the benefit of implementing the objective of this work is observed.
