The following research proposes to perform adequate maintenance management on the DS-311 bolting equipment, to increase its mechanical availability, which lies is based on the importance of the equipment's operation in the production and that its failures directly impact the operation. The type of research is mixed, the explanatory study and the type of quasi-experimental design. For development of management, the methodology of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is employed, focusing on its fundamental processes. In the focused improvements, the current situation of the maintenance area is identified as organization, critical equipment, detection of the most frequent failures applying Pareto analysis and maintenance indicator information. Failure diagnosis is also performed to find its root cause using the Why - Why method. Autonomous maintenance is carried out on the operators, the development of their competencies and daily activities such as inspection, lubrication, cleaning, adjustments and other actions in order to keep the equipment in the best conditions. Activities to consider in maintenance planning are elaborate, the importance of the planner and improvements in the management process. The scheduled maintenance of equipment, two types is decreed as one of the most important activities of the management, establishing scope for its efficient execution. In the scheduled maintenance of equipment, two types of maintenance are recommended: systematic and corrective programmed, the frequency of the maintenance described in the manuals and anomalies presented by the equipment for the development of the maintenance program. It is recommended guidelines to be followed in the direction of maintenance management towards technicians, such as the approach of equipment maintenance, the promotion of values, communication, among others, in order to eliminate deficiencies in the management process. A culture of organizational maintenance is proposed to achieve a global improvement of the equipment, committing the other areas to change bad practices in their processes, which, cause deficiencies and failures in the maintenance of the bolting equipment. Therefore, with the improvement of the processes and implementation of new activities, it is desired to improve the availability of the DS-311 bolting equipment, reducing its failures and maintaining a cost in accordance with the budget, to meet the objectives of operation and final profit margin.
