This research of professional sufficiency is oriented to the peruvian energy sector; this sector is of great importance for the economic development of the country. Electricity generation in our country is growing progressively over the time, the demand for energy is increasing due to new mining, industrial, manufacturing, and other projects. Electric power plants produce the energy required in the electricity sector, there are different types of power plants, these can be thermal, hydroelectric, solar, wind, among others. These generation plants differ from the others by their own characteristics; these characteristics can be installed power, efficiency, and energy resource. Energy efficiency is an important factor in all generation plants because it has an impact on operating costs and in some types of plants; they have an impact on the environment. In this research, the analysis of the operation of a combined cycle termal generation plant located in Chilca, Lima, Peru is developed. This termal power plant has three gas turbines and a steam turbine, the gas turbines do not have the same efficiency, therefore, in the present investigation, and the analysis is performed so that the thermal power plants operate with greater efficiency. The research of professional sufficiency uses a mathematical method that allows to calculate an adequate operation of the thermal power plant with the objective of increasing the efficiency of the process in such a way that the consumption of natural gas is reduced. Therefore, in the sufficiency work, what is analyzed is proposed to improve plant efficiency and reduce fuel.
