Ethylene is one of the most important industrial raw materials, because it is the basic input for the manufacture of various chemical products of commercial and industrial importance; and considering that Peru has natural gas reserves, but that ethane is not used for its conversion to ethylene, that is why in this research the concern arises to seek new alternatives for the conversion of ethane to ethylene through catalysts polymetallic. For this, catalysts based on vanadium oxide were prepared and characterized as an activator source supported on nano gamma alumina and promoted with some alkaline elements (Li, Na and K) and niobium (Nb), for the production of ethylene through the conversion of ethane from natural gas. In the experimental part of this thesis, the preparation of the catalysts has been developed, first, through the wet impregnation method. Second, the various catalysts have been characterized with nitrogen sorption methods (BET method), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Raman spectroscopy, programmed temperature reduction (TPR), and scanning electron microscopy. sensitive (SEM) and also, the test of the catalysts with promoters of Li, Na and K that presented conversions around 22% higher to vanadium oxide on nano- γ -Al2O3. However, the V2O5 / nano- γ -Al2O3 catalysts promoted with Nb showed the selectivities to ethylene around 72-95%.
