Mining in Peru has always been one of the important activities of the national economy, contributing a strong and growing volume of foreign currency that exceeds, at present more than 50% of our total exports. Although industrial development is the fundamental pillar of the economic, social and cultural development of the country, we must also recognize that this process is based on the increase of production and productivity; that is, in the human factors, in the aptitude that depends on their physical, psychological and mental capacity, their technological knowledge and an adequate work environment. Workers are often exposed to critical occupational risks and physical, chemical, biological, psychosocial and ergonomic risk factors present in work activities. These factors can lead to a breakdown of health status, and can cause accidents, occupational diseases and others related to the work environment. According to estimates by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), there are about 160 million non-fatal cases of occupational diseases and 202 million fatal cases worldwide each year. In Peru, for a long time, there is a group of diseases associated with occupational work or pathologies that, although not yet recognized as occupational diseases, are directly related to work activities that workers from any point of the regions suffer, for one or another cause. The purpose of this research is to improve the epidemiological surveillance program in order to know and describe the causes of occupational diseases and improve the quality of life of the worker. Knowing the critical risks and occupational factors to which each worker is exposed; they will help prevent pre-pathological states from becoming over time occupational diseases. Likewise, it is necessary to know the characteristics of the diseases registered by occupational medical rests, information that will allow to prevent the existence of occupational diseases in the workers of the specialized company IESA S.A. - U.P. Porvenir.
