A simplified design process is applied in this work for post-tensioned beam-column connections in a model for a comercial building, placed on the Peruvian coast on rigid soil. For de design verification, the parametric analysis of each connection is performed according to a rotation imposed on the frame using the “Monolitic Beam Analogy - MBA” method (Palermo et al, 2005) developed as part of the PRESSSLAM program of the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. In order to obtain the seismic demand, the Direct Displacement-Based Design Method (Priestley et al, 2008) has been used, besides the Peruvian technical standard E030 for the definition of the displacement spectrum. During analysis and process, the different assumptions to take into account the fragile and flexible nature of the mechanical behavior of laminated wood and the dynamic behavior of the structural system are shown.
