The Santa Rosa mining unit (SRM) has been extracting gold through the exploitation of open pit ore. Subsequently, the leaching is carried out, which is included in Phases 1 and 2 of the existing leaching pad. A new phase have to design since the storage capacity of the existing phases of the leaching platform is not sufficient to meet the demand of the mine. The design of the new phase was developed to a detailed engineering level for the Phase 3A. However, the influence of Phase 3 on Phase 3A is estimated, which was also considered in the analysis. The conventional leaching system and the wide variety of reference models designed and built have been considered for the design. The topography of the place, current conditions, geotechnical stability and the capacity required by the MSR are also considered in the design. The design of the extension of Phase 3A of the leaching pad will allow to the SRM to continue its operations for two more years. This guarantees proper pad stability and adequate projection for future structures.
