The management tools already known as, the control curve S, the bar chart Gantt and Lean production widely used in the manufacturing industry have multiple applications in construction, as in the case of Lean Construction. In Lean Construction, what is sought is to apply the best methods and management tools to reduce the losses of time and money in a construction site. In order for a management project to be efficient in a project, a Total Quality policy in the construction company is also required, that is, the objective of reducing losses must involve all workers. The preliminary studies that are needed to start with the work of excavation of basements, is the topographic survey that identifies the unevenness in the terrain and the study of Soil Mechanics of the land that allows you to know the type of soil to be excavated up to the requested depth. The process of excavation of basements or also known as deep excavation, begins with the meter of the volume to be excavated according to the plans of the project, then according to the number of basements the number of rings to be excavated is defined and the advance is per ring, once that the rings are known, the work is planned with a Gantt bar diagram, which will also be complemented with the list of resources that are needed and their distribution per week. Two types of excavation are identified: a massive excavation in the entire area of the land and another located in the cistern and the foundations. The equipment to be used for the excavation work will be the excavator, the front loader, the dump truck, the conveyor belt, the telescopic crane, etc. The human resources will be the supervisor of the excavation, the prevention of the excavation, the lookout, the operation of the equipment, etc. The control system for production control curve S will be taking the cumulative elimination volume curve projected per week and comparing with the cumulative actual elimination volume curve. In order to elaborate these curves, field information will be collected thanks to the tare formats of the tipper wheels, which will be filled by the supervisor every week. The results of the real advance curve are analyzed with respect to the projected progress curve in each week if there is a delay, the causes are sought and the corrective measures are taken. The process is repeated in the following weeks and the total delay in the work of excavating basements is minimized.
