The slag generated in the steel smelting plants is considered as an innocuous waste whose final destination is usually a landfill. 19 MYPES in the city of Lima generate all together significant amount of slag. The MYPE FUNNESA generates 18 tons per year of steel slag. This slag presents trapped metal particles with weight ranges given in percentages as follows: Al <0.17%, 18.55%>, Cr <0.32%, 9.16%> and Fe <1.14%, 3.28%>. In Peru, the slag comes from the processing of the scrap collected, cleaned and processed through usual casting procedures. MYPE FUNVESA processes scrap for its 6 production lines. This work presents a viable proposal to treat slag as a co-product of the MYPE FUNVESA. The results of the laboratory tests indicate that the slag generated can replace to the crushed stone for structural concrete. In the laboratory a concrete of 24.5 MPa was achieved using Portland Type I cement following the dosage to the weight of 1: 1.83: 1.88. Under the coordination of the NGO GEA Group, a pilot project was implemented to build, with these materials, the slab at the public transportation bus-stop located in the Humedales de Ventanilla which is a conservation area located in Ventanilla district at Callao Region. The breaking strength of the specimens reached values of f'c = 20 MPa. The business model recommended to the MYPE FUNVESA is the use of slag as a coarse aggregate in the manufacture of simple concrete paving stones, also, to develop it as an eco-innovation project with global standards, under the offer of PRODUCE (Ministry of Production), to facilitate it under request for training and technical assistance to participate in the INNOVATE PERU program. The concept of social responsibility is a strong component of the MYPES FUNVESA business model to support the Ventanilla district, since the project began in March 2017 with a pilot project in the Humedales de Ventanilla.
