This thesis proposes a design of a model for corporate purchasing for the categories of strategic materials used in standard production of projects operation executed by the company COSAPI, with the aim of improving the procurement process, specifically reducing time of attention to requirements, reducing costs and increasing the level of satisfaction of internal customers. The study begins by describing the supplying and purchasing process. Then the activities carried out are diagrammed (Bizagi Modeler); Afterwards, the causes are identified in the areas involved in the supply process: internal customer, purchases, supplier, warehouse and transport, which are related to the main problem. Then, through a criticality score of the causes, the thesis concludes that it is needed to prioritize the study of causes related to the purchasing area. After that, the categories of strategic materials are identified by analyzing their purchase recurrence and economic value during 2018 through the application of the Pareto diagram, then the main categories were located in the Kraljic matrix, deciding the application of corporate purchases to the following categories: personal protective equipment, wood, industrial hardware for construction, office supplies. Based on these four categories of materials came the proposal to design a corporate purchasing model, and to determine the best alternative the following factors were taken into account: operability, savings, systematization of the process and times. The implementation of this proposal in these four categories would obtain savings of about S/ 477,699.38 a year and would reduce the time of the purchasing process of these four categories from eight to two days. The result of the improvement proposal would eliminate many processes and subprocesses where buyers consume unnecessary time. On the other hand, the existing bureaucracy would be diminished; Likewise, great savings would be obtained after the awarding and signing of purchase contracts with suppliers, and the internal customers´ levels of satisfaction would increase.
