This research analyzes ergonomic risk factors and their impact on productivity, based on the study, the workers of industrial cleaning of a zinc refinery, located in Lima - Peru; the model considers ergonomics and productivity as dependent and independent variables respectively. It is a descriptive, deductive study based on data collected through a survey and indicators of morbidity, accident rate and staff turnover. To test the assumption, first the existence of ergonomic risk factors in the industrial cleaning activities was verified, then the calculation of costs due to illness, accident rate and personnel turnover was made, which were generated by exposure to these risk factors. Finally, the relationship between the dependent and independent variables was analyzed through the mathematical formula for calculating productivity, where the costs for resources used constitute the denominator. Verifying that the productivity of the service decreases when increasing the costs of the resources used. With this, the relevance of the application of ergonomics in companies is evident, allowing to reduce the increase in occupational health and safety costs, while at the same time boosting the productivity of the company.
