The portland cement of the Sol type I brand is a cement from the company Cementos Lima S.A, currently UNACEM, leading company in the cement market of Lima, place of high population density and high demand of this product. In previous years, Cemento Sol used only paper packaging, but in previous studies it showed the disadvantages that this presented. Currently the cement container consists of three sheets of paper and one of plastic, now with the new packaging there is no knowledge of the effectiveness of this. The formation of lumps, decrease of the resistance to compression and the lengthening of time of setting are frequent problems in cements stored on site, where access to moisture is facilitated by various means. In order to determine the quality of the current container of the Sol cement and the effects that it produces in the Concrete, two cement groups were formed, the first group corresponds to the cement in its original container (3 of paper and 1 of plastic) and the second group is the additionally protected cement with 2 polyethylene bags. Both the concrete with protected cement and the concrete with unprotected cement were made with the water / cement ratio of: 0.45, 0.50 and 0.55. A program of tests was carried out at 0, 30, 60 and 90 days of storage. Both concretes were subjected to tests in their fresh and hardened state, in the aforementioned storage periods. The results obtained at 0 days correspond to the standard values which we call CONCRETO PATRÓN (CP). The results showed that the most relevant decreases are in the Percentage of Fluency, Forge Time and Compression Resistance at 90 days of storage. It was also noted that, in the results of the Compression Resistance tests, The Standard Deviation increases as the storage time is extended.
