Currently the technical file of the Vía Evitamiento of the city of Huánuco with a length of 14 km is being made; given the morphology and road design of the area, it is necessary to build a tunnel to continue with the development of the technical file. The projected tunnel will have a length of 400 m and is located between the progressive km 4 + 240 to 4 + 640; It will have a useful section of 11,20 m, height of 7,56 m and a gauge of 5,50 m, rolling width of 9,60 m, also have sections of excavation for a type of rock II presents a section of 11,30 m x 8,07 m, for a rock type III a section of 11,40 m x 8,12 m and for a type of rock IV - V has a section 11,65 m x 8,24. The axis of the tunnel crosses rock mass belonging to the Marañón Complex (Gneiss and Schist), whose physical characteristics are diaclased, fractured, weathered and altered in both its chemical and physical composition. For the design of the tunnel, a program of geological and geotechnical investigations was carried out, which included the execution of geophysical tests, diamond drilling and geomechanical stations, with which a geomechanical model has been defined and the design of the support according to the type of rock found.
