The present work aims to provide clear and practical knowledge for the manufacture of parts in manganese steel, based on a bowl and mantle in ASTM alloy A 128 E1. The scope of this work will be to reach professionals immersed in metallurgy of transformation, as metallurgists who are just beginning to forge a path in this passionate, difficult world of the casting of alloys, in particular steels. The mission of this work is also to inspire, research and development of new alloys, new processes, which add value to the country's metallurgical industry. In the first part of the work, we will understand the importance of the casting design of the parts to be manufactured, as well as the use of simulation software. In the intermediate we will know all the stages of the manufacturing process of Bowl and Mantle, from the manufacture of the model to the final finish. In the last part of this work the quality of the pieces will be analyzed; having tests such as: metallography, hardness test, tensile strength test. Finally we will discuss the hypotheses, contrasting the data obtained in the tests carried out. Surely we will leave subjects in the air, in the inkwell, or they will become ambiguous and confused. There is no absolute truth regarding the manufacture of manganese steel parts; However, this work also aims to raise questions that must be resolved by metallurgists who can read this work.
