The mining modern in Peru contemplates the evaluation of possible environmental impacts and the prevention, mitigation and contingency measures in the construction, operation and closure activities of the mine. However, the generation of Acid Mine Drainage has been, is and will be a worrying environmental problem. This productive activity, that is generator of acidic water, has the potential to cause a negative impact to the environment, which is sustained in the deposits of a complex geology and mineralogy, being the presence of pyrite as the main mineral of gangue that is the association between sulfides, antiquity of operations metallurgical, among others. The early identification of elements potentially generating acidity and the development of an appropriate environmental management plan can significantly reduce long-term environme nta l problems and remediation costs, including timely identification of the problem and the incorporation of the corresponding control measures, as well as reducing financial costs for the sustainable development of the mine. In this thesis, it will be focused on a sample of Acid Drainage Mine with a high content of Manganese and Zinc. It will be an initial characterization of the sample, then will proposed alternatives for acidic water treatment systems eliminating or reducing the Manganese and Zinc for a better control. Consequently, it will design of plant an acidic water treatment that is economically, technically and environmentally sustainable. Finally, will be emphasized the preventive measures that can be taken.
