This thesis project, verifies the fundamental security problems that companies have with the use of mobile cranes of all kinds (mobile crane rental service), within their operations in public areas with metal charges, taking into account the risk that can be had in economic and human losses by the lack mainly of security, when not taking into account several factors, like the non-identification of the cranes and their conditions of use, not reviewing the procedures indicated in the planning for the lift, overlooking important details for its correct operation, not identifying the type of accidents and their causes, not being clear about the level of responsibility in an operation, not having a selection of qualified personnel for such operations, the lack of supervision in operations and little operational experience, this completes the set of problems identified. The crane is a unique machine to use it safely and the use implies to anticipate to develop a plan and execute it properly and are not suggestions, but a mandatory part in the use of cranes therefore the most dangerous thing that could happen when using this machinery It is improvising and not planning its use and constitutes a security risk with a great potential to generate losses. It is therefore important to demonstrate that the use of a methodology for the safety of these machines, based on national and international standards (OSHA and ASME-ANSI), will minimize, control and eliminate all types of risk from its origin and all its consequences, since it is looking for a better management in the topic of risks for the use of cranes. Finally, the results obtained in five companies are shown in which, the proposed management methodology will show us its effectiveness and applicability.
