The objective ofthis thesis is to designa Submerged Radial Gate with 9m high and 6m wide, that supports a maximum water pressure of 17m, this gate is part of the hydromechanical equipment for the CH Pizarras project of The Company Río Doble SA. The design was carried out in 2012 and this gate is currently installed and operational in the Las Pizarras hydroelectric power plant, which generates an l 8MW energy, which is located in the Sexi district, Santa Cruz province, department of Cajamarca, in the basin high ofthe Chancay river - Lambayeque. In this thesis were used as basis for the calculation as well for the definitions, the German norrns DIN 19704-19705 and Brazilian norrns 8883-7279, as well as justificatory calculations were developed with the help ofthe Mathcad program, thus obtaining a basis for similar designs. It is worth mentioning that, the present thesis shows an integral design of the gate and all the possible cases of loads, not only limiting the design to the case of hydrostatic pressure, that is, the hydrodynamic force due to the earthquake is included and its effect for the design. Emphasis is placed on the calculation of the lifting force, obtaining the graph of the lifting force according to the opening angle of the gate. Everything said above, after reading this thesis, those responsible or involved with the design of radial gates, can develop a more reliable design of these.
