In this document, we show the results of a research on the effect of the workability of dry mortar on the strength properties of the masonry wall, mainly in the resistance to axial compression of masonry piles and the resistance to diagonal compression in walls of masonry. The study factor of this thesis was the change of the wall strength properties in relation to the different amount of water added to the dry mortar. For this purpose, samples of piles and walls of masonry made, using the unconventional mortar called dry mortar or bagging and the traditional mortar or standard (cement-sand dosage 1: 4). The existing product used as a dry mortar in the CONCREMAX MORTAR market, which was analysed by adding less, greater and equal amounts of water than recommended in the package specifications. The prisms and low walls made considering a type of clay masonry unit. The masonry units used were King Kong 18 holes bricks, manufactured by the PIRAMIDE brand. In the development of research, tests were performed on units of masonry, essays on the fine aggregate for mortar pattern making, trials in dry mortar (in its three cases of water to add) and mortar standard to determine their properties in fresh and hardened state, tests in compression of masonry prisms and trials of diagonal compression in masonry walls. Then the results and analysis of the results of the trials are detailed (chapter VI). In the final chapter, a guide to the use of dry mortar in the work is developed, which is based on the experiences acquired throughout the elaboration of the specimens and the results obtained after being tested (Chapter VII). In general, the product CONCREMAX (dry mortar) shows a good performance (in terms of compression of piles and diagonal compression of walls) compared to the results of the standard mortar, adding more or equal amount of water specified by the manufacturer. On the other hand, when adding less water than recommended, the resistance reached was very low in comparison to the resistance reached by the standard mortar.
