In frame structures, it expects that beams incursion in the inelastic range, while the mostly columns remain elastic (weak column – strong beam mechanism).In that context, the present thesis set a parametric research in order to evaluate the capacity of reinforced concrete beams designed by NTE.E060 with the mechanicals properties of reinforcing steel obtained in the laboratory, since the capacity of the structural elements used to estimate by using nominal values according to international design codes that it cannot be applied to our reality. The main variables used in this investigation are the longitudinal and transverse reinforcement ratio. As well as, the results of the diagrams are used to study the shear failure on beams then it stablishes several recommendations to avoid this kind of brittle behavior. Finally, it assesses the displacement ductility of frame structures by means of simplified formulations and using the results of the studied beam
