The present thesis investigates the relationship between “Design of a maintenance plan centered on reliability” as a fundamental basis of the maintenance with the purpose of “Improving the maintenance of the automatic coiling lines of the INDECO S.A. Company”, as well as that it is adjusted to the necessity Of the company, such as optimizing costs through the systematic reduction of occurrence of undesirable faults and events, and minimizing the impact on the core business that is the manufacture of electrical conductors frequently used in construction. In order to achieve these objectives, a statistical diagnosis of the previous and current condition of these automatic coiling lines is carried out, collecting historical information between times between stops and the time taken for the repair of the non-scheduled stops in reference to the maintenance performed , Failure occurrences, failure modes, as well as the characteristics and functioning of the equipment that make up the portfolio, depending on the operational context, and then using the criticality analysis. Also, an analysis of failure modes and effects is performed on automatic coiling lines, such as maintenance support centered on reliability (RCM), dividing them into sub-equipment. Following the application of the weighted level of risk of each failure effect, this determines the proactive activities to be developed in the new maintenance plan for such equipment. Finally, as a result of the reliability analysis and the parametric distribution analysis, the optimum maintenance frequencies of automatic coiling lines are determined to guarantee the reliability that the company needs in the production of cables with a high quality of service. Also, as a result of this research, performance indicators are defined that allow to control the availability of such equipment.
